Innovative and cutting-edge technology are influencing the way information is communicated and delivered. These advancements are enabling government to communicate with and engage the public about various issues in a dynamic and cost-effective manner.

As part of New York State's ongoing commitment to provide consumers with useful information, the New York State Consumer Protection Board (CPB) employs "web 2.0" technologies to help transmit information.

Podcasts
Listen to helpful consumer information in English or Spanish on the CPB's ConsumerCast podcast. Consumers can also subscribe to hear all of the podcasts. The associated text is also available.

Social Media
Have access to the latest information about important consumer protection issues by following the CPB on Twitter: @NYSConsumer. The CPB tweets spotlight issues such as product recalls, scams, data breaches and general consumer alerts. Consumers are encouraged to read this website's Participation Policy.

Consumer Alerts via NY Alert
Receive consumer alerts by signing up for consumer information on NY Alert. Through the NY Alert system, consumers receive CPB messages via user-chosen distribution channels, including e-mail, wireless phone, Twitter, etc. The NY Alert system features a special text-to-voice option to deliver messages to the visually impaired.

Consumer RSS Feeds
The CPB maintains several Really Simple Syndication, or RSS, feeds of consumer content. Users can view and subscribe to these feeds. Other recall RSS feeds can be found in the Consumer Alerts and Recalls page.
